Enterprising SDI Innkeepers

SDI (Self-Directed Incomes) entrepreneurs - whether part-time or full time - need to travel more than full time wage earners, but increasing costs of lodgings are often a burden especially for those who are not yet earning significant self directed incomes. More and more SDI entrepreneurs are mixing business and pleasure on their travels so they can deduct legitimate expenses and include entertainment as a bonus.

Many SDI entrepreneurs are building personal networks of SDI associates who are willing to offer rooms and/or food in their homes to travelling fellow SDI entrepreneurs in exchange for cash and/or barter-exchange SDI (Self Directed Incarrangements of skills, products and/or services. The Cyberclass Network supports and promotes this idea and invites SDI entrepreneurs to incorporate the barter and trading concept to facilitate economic exchanges involving food and lodgings.

Fellow SDI associates have suggested that since The Cybercalss Network has access to a growing network of SDI entrepreneurs that I compile a Directory of those who are willing and anxious to be part-time innkeepers and share it with others seeking to reduce travel costs.

I have pondered the idea and in recent months I have had an opportunity to offer food and lodgings to fellow SDI entrepreneurs visiting Ottawa and to accept  food and lodgings from other SDI entrepreneurs living in Toronto on barter-arrangements. I do believe that the time is right to compile an ever-expanding list that will include local, national and international SDI entrepreneurs who are willing to exchange food and lodgings when travelling..

I propose to form an SDI Innkeepers Network which will publish and regularly update a Directory of all SDI entrepreneurs who are willing to offer rooms in their homes to travelling SDI associates and accept at least partial payment of such exchanges in barter credits. All would offer sleeping accommodations for the night and optional breakfast in the morning for a stated arrangement.

To become lifetime participants with the SDI Innkeepers Network SDI associates would need only provide proof of membership in at least one SDI opportunity and register (free registration) with the The Cyberclass Nework.  In return, all new SDI associates would receive the Directory at the time of their joining and would be entitled to purchase subsequent Directories when updated. SDI Innkeepers would get one free listing in the Directory and have the option of purchasing space in the Directory to advertise their particular bed-and-breakfast arrangement as well as other skills, talents, products and/or services available from their respective enterprises.

SDI entrepreneurs already have their networks in place to expand this concept at a rapid rate so that any SDI fellow-entrepreneur would be able to find bed-and-breakfast arrangements no matter where they travel in this global village. Eventually the Directory can be put on a website for ease of access.

Your input is invited on this particular creative concept that will have as a bonus the chance to meet  local, national and global SDI entrepreneurs. Staying at the homes of other SDI associates with a mutually agreed arrangement is an ideal way to learn and be thrifty as you travel.
