Subject: Still waiting for action from Mayor Bob Chiarelli and Ottawa Councillors !!

May 30, 2001

Greetings to Mayor Bob Chiarelli and the Councillors for the City of Ottawa:

I am reminding you of my three earlier communications with you. On November 30, 2000 I hand delivered or mailed to Mayor Bob Chiarelli and each of the Councillors a copy of A Proposal To Limit Tax Increases While Improving Current Levels Of Municipal Government Services. On January 30, 2001 I forwarded an email of the hard copy of the document that I had forwarded on November 30, 2000. The document is now posted at this URL: www.cyberclass.net/chiarelli.htm And on March 30, 2001 I forwarded you a follow-up to the follow-up.

As of this date, May 30, 2001 one Councillor, Councillor Rainer Bloess has acknowledged the content of the original document. I have posted his communication at this URL: www.cyberclass.net/rainer.htm And Kim Johnston, from Mayor Bob Chiarelli's office responded to the March 30, 2001 emailing. I have posted her response at this URL: www.cyberclass.net/mayorresponds.htm

I am still looking forward to a meeting in the not-too-distant-future to discuss a possible pilot project using the "usury-free" LETS software with the co-operation of the City of Ottawa.

I remind you of the information relating to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) re: a request to its members "to submit resolutions on subjects of national municipal interest." Details are posted at this URL: www.cyberclass.net/usuryfreemunicipal.htm

It is still not too late for one enlightened member of Ottawa City council to draft a document - based on the

information that I have provided - for submission at the FCM Annual Conference.....May 31-June 3, 2001.

There's plenty of new information posted at The Barter/LETS Cyberclassroom: www.cyberclass.net/bartable.htm

Working with you for "peace and plenty" by 2020

PS: We can learn much form the Argentines who seem to be much more aware of how a "usury-free" community currency functions. They now have the largest LETS/barter/trading network in the world with 500,000+ members. Details at these URL's: www.cyberclass.net/krauss.htm & www.cyberclass.net/argentina.htm

PPS: While we patiently wait for the Mayor of Ottawa and the Councillors to take action to implement a "usury-free" currency, The Nousury Network's Online Community has set out to create the largest LETS/barter/trading network that the world has even known. Readers are invited to visit this URL: www.communityzero.com/nousury Click on the "Shared Lists" and enter your contact data and your "offers" and "requests" as we begin to build The NoUsury Network LETS database. The Nousury Network believes that Canadians are as intelligent at the Argentines, though lack of action from municipal politicians makes us wonder !
