Businessman saw powerful combination of network marketing and global deregulation
A traditional business-man for 22 years, Frank Varon said that he'd never be involved in network marketing. It was an industry he admittedly hated. That was over 25 months ago, before he and his wife and business partner, Valerie, of Montreal, Canada, met Carlos and Angela Rey, their Miami-based Excel Communications sponsors.
The Varons looked at the Rey's proposal very seriously and the combination of Frank's extensive research into the power of network marketing combined with the phenonena of global deregulation of telecommunications pushed them over the top. "What won me over was the anticipated $3 trillion (Canadian) ($2 trillion US) value of the telecom industry over the next five to six years. In addition, my home city of Montreal was obviously about to play the reverse role of North America's gateway from/of Europe," Frank explained.
The Varon's joined Excel in March 1999 as it was launching in Canada. Within 90 days, Valeriesaid the couple had over 500 reps in their organization and were hosting 14 big hotel meetings a week, held in two languages, bith French and English.
Currently, the Varon's organization has around 4,000 resp in their first seven levels. Theirs is the largest and fastest-growing organization in Canada and one of the three fastest-growing in the history of Excel in all of North America. The Varons have also reached the Top Performers Council, meaning they're in the top 40 of all North American Excel reps. All that was achieved in 20 months, an all-time Excel record!
THe Varons had to overcome some objections from shocked family members when they announced they were entering network marketing. Frank had been a traditional businessman, buying troubled businesses (those that were mismanaged or under-capitalized) and essentially fixing them up and then reselling them once they were healthy again.
Valeria had been a travel agent and they were were both raising the couple's four children. In retrospect, Frank feels the change has paid off, "The reward of this business, besides the financial and time freedom is seeing people's lives change." He attributes his success to his belief in the Excel opportunity. "The belief is what causes people to listen to you. It's about passion, focus and listening to people." he shared.
Besides being in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, Excel will be going worldwide. THe Varons are excited about being part of that. For now, they plan to "work the business hard." But Frank hinted the couple may retire to the Caribbean someday, buy a five-star hotel with a restaurant and two boats to go sport fishing. But, that's some day.
